Неприхотливое многолетнее растение семейства Гвоздичные. Представляет собой сильно ветвистый, ажурный, почти шаровидный куст до 1 м в диаметре и до 1 м высотой. Все растение серовато-зеленое с мелкими многочисленными цветками белого цвета. Цветет в июне-августе. Во время цветения куст похож на пышное облако. Морозостойкое, светолюбивое, засухоустойчивое. На одном месте может расти до 25 лет. Предпочитает легкие, сухие, водопроницаемые, удобренные почвы. Высевают в апреле-мае или под зиму в открытый грунт. Пересаживают с расчетом 2-3 растения на 1 кв.м. Эффектны в одиночных и групповых посадках, в срезке с другими цветами, в аранжировке сухих букетов.
