Первые публикации М. Булгакова, будущего автора гениальных "Бега", "Белой гвардии", "Мастера и Маргариты", приходятся на начало и середину 1920-х годов. Это были рассказы и фельетоны, сатирически отображающие "новый советский быт", новую московскую действительность... В них чувствовался уже тот яд, которым в полной мере пропитаны страницы "Дьяволиады", "Роковых яиц" и "Собачьего сердца". Ведь не следует забывать, что действие этих блистательно-глумливых, обнаживших на несколько десятилетий вперед самую суть нового строя повестей происходит на тех же самых улицах и с участием тех же самых персонажей, что и в фельетонах "Приключения покойника", "Брачная катастрофа", "Говорящая собака", "Праздник с сифилисом" и многих других, вошедших в настоящее издание под общим названием "Москва краснокаменная".
