4 декабря 2020 года в продажу поступил альбом The White Stripes Greatest Hits — первая (!) антология золотых композиций культового рок-дуэта Джека и Мэг Уайт. Компиляция расскажет историю The White Stripes в 26 песнях — от проблесков гениальности конца 90-х и гимнов андерграунда «нулевых» до мастерских моментов на MTV Moon Man, грандиозных выступлений на «Грэмми» и хорового пения мировых стадионов. Двадцать с чем-то лет назад брат и сестра забрались на чердак своего доме в Юго-Западном Детройте и сбацали примитивный кавер на “Moonage Daydream” Дэвида Боуи. Мгновение спустя — и они уже выступают на любительском концерте в День взятия Бастилии. Еще чуть-чуть — брат с сестрой выпускают два 7-дюймовых сингла для местного инди-лейбла. Получают предложение на запись полнометражного альбома от лейбла покрупнее. Релиз. Гастроли. Еще один альбом. Больше турне. Еще один альбом. Люди реально начинают их замечать. Тур за туром, больше альбомов, больше наград, одна дикая мечта сменяет другую. «Всемирно известный» и «сенсация» из маркетинговых клише превращаются в реальность. Страсть, тяжелая работа и самоотверженность — качества, которые The White Stripes демонстрировали с самого начала своего существования — становятся центральными темами компиляции The White Stripes Greatest Hits. В эпоху стриминга, когда сама идея Best Of-альбома кажется неуместной — ведь самые прослушиваемые песни групп де-факто и так являются «золотым хитами», — White Stripes вновь идут своим путем.
