Память: 15 мая, 23 июня, 6 июля, 4 августа, 18 сентября, 5 октябряСвятой Глеб – русский князь, который вместе со своим братом Борисом, канонизирован в лике мученика-страстотерпца. Оба брата считаются первыми святыми земли русской. Святые, конечно же, жили на русской земле и раньше, но к лику святых все они были причислены уже после братьев Бориса и Глеба . Глеб был младшим из четырех братьев святого равноапостольного князя Владимира Святославича (Красное Солнышко), крестившего Русь в 988 году. Святой Глеб также являлся первым князем города Муром.Глеб (как и Борис) был убит в ходе междоусобной войны по приказу своего старшего брата Святополка Окаянного, вслед за братом Борисом. Накануне же умер и их отец. Глеб, знавший об убийстве родного брата, понимал, что и его самого ждет смерть, но предпочел ее войне с родным братом. Глеб был убит по приказу воинов Святополка на реке Смядынь под Смоленском.
