Хронологические рамки документов ограничены XVIII веком - это самые ранние отзывы и воспоминания о личности и ученых занятиях М.В. Ломоносова, которые почти через два с половиной столетия доносят до нас непредвзятое мнение тех, кто долгие годы работал и жил рядом с ним. Переводы документов, написанных на иностранных языках, даны в новых редакциях. Впервые будут полностью представлены описания родины Ломоносова, составленные в XVIII веке. Публикация документов сопровождается подробными научными и историко-литературными примечаниями и справочным аппаратом. Книга адресована историкам науки, учителям и преподавателям вузов, студентам, а также всем, кто интересуется жизнью, идеями и бытом очень далекого от нас сейчас XVIII века. Составитель: Г.Г.
